Stevie Ray Vaughan 20th year anniversary



Today is the 20th anniversary of one the greatest guitarist’s that ever lived blues guitarist and singer Stevie Ray Vaughan. The 35 year old was killed in a helicopter crash outside of East Troy, Wiscon. The accident happened after a gig in which Stevie was headlining a concert along with his brother Jimmie and guitar legends Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Robert Cray. After the concert Stevie and members of the crew left Alpine Valley but the helicopter crashed soon after takeoff, killing all aboard. On August 27, shortly before 1 a.m., a helicopter carrying Vaughan en route to Chicago crashed within seconds after takeoff. Four days later, funeral services were held at Laurel Land Memorial Park in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas, Texas, with over 1,500 people attending and 3,000 more outside the chapel.
